In Surrey Heartlands more than 6,000 people in the expected atrial fibrillation (AF) population are ’missing’ – living with a potentially life threatening condition. The mission of BP+ is to find them before a stroke happens to them.
Kay Fice is a Surrey County Council employee whose life may have been saved because she signed up for one of our BP+ blood pressure and AF check. Like so many people in Surrey, she had no idea she had a condition that could have led to a severe stroke or even death. As Kay says: “If you get the chance to go and have the test – please take it. It could actually save your life.”
Surrey Heartlands is providing the BP+ checks in workplaces, some community pharmacies and through volunteers. Find out more here.
