What is Coronavirus
COVID-19, also known as coronavirus, is a virus that can affect your lungs and airways. Symptoms include fever and respiratory symptoms including coughing and shortness of breath. Generally, coronavirus can cause more severe symptoms in people with weakened immune systems, older people, and those with long term conditions like diabetes, cancer and chronic lung disease.
COVID-19 vaccination programme.
The NHS has begun delivering a safe and effective vaccination programme. Following extensive safety trials and authorisation by the independent regulator (the MHRA), effective COVID-19 vaccines are now available for free in the UK. The vaccination programme has started in Surrey Heartlands and is gradually expanding when more vaccine supplies are available. Primary care, hospital and community teams are working with our county and borough councils and a wide range of other community partners and are doing an incredible job to deliver what is the largest vaccination programme in NHS history.
We are receiving numerous enquiries about the vaccination programme. There’s lots of information on our website which might answer your query quickly. Please go to Frequently Asked Questions.
If you cannot find an answer to your question there we now have a dedicated email address: firstname.lastname@example.org.
You can also call 0300 5612 500, open from 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday only
Please note: this is NOT a vaccination booking service.
Please be aware that we are receiving numerous enquiries about the vaccination programme. We aim to respond to all enquiries within 5 working days but in some cases this may be longer. We ask everyone to be patient and appreciate our hard-working staff.
Please allow the NHS and partners to focus on delivering care and co-ordinating this mammoth effort. The public have an important part to play to help us do this:
- please don’t contact your GP practices, the wider NHS or any of the community venues that hosting clinics to seek a vaccine, we will contact you
- when we do contact you, please attend your booked appointments
- please continue to follow all the rules to control the virus and save lives.
