A number of Professional Champions are being recruited from across the Surrey Heartlands workforce to support transformation work.

The Academy is co-ordinating the introduction of these new roles. The Professional Champions will ensure the continued development of multi-professional leadership across the Integrated Care System (ICS). They will be from a range of different professions including Clinical Scientists, Dentists, Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians, Allied Health Professionals, Social Workers and Psychological Therapists. They will supplement the medical and nursing leadership roles already in post across the system.

The Professional Champions will spend around half a day a week working in this new role over 12 months, developing networks across the ICS, promoting Surrey Heartlands as a workplace and working together to organise an annual event to showcase Surrey Heartlands’ pioneering work.

Said Mark Hamilton, Executive Clinical Director for the Academy: “These exciting new roles aim to complement our existing medical and nursing leadership ‘voices’. They will be responsible for ensuring their profession is well represented and can influence system change, and also make sure colleagues have access to information about available opportunities, such as research and professional development, as well as helping to build a network to support our continued system development.“

Expressions of interest have been received and interviews are taking place this month.
