Following the pilot of a Multi-Professional Reference Panel for Cardiovascular Disease, the Academy team has been working to extend the nature of this database of Surrey Heartlands employees who want to be involved in change work.

This extended database is planned to launch shortly, and as part of this launch we’ve been exploring how change teams might use an engagement panel to support their work.

Teams currently interested are:

  • Mental Health, particularly in dementia, but also as a tool to engage the wider workforce with improvement in mental health service delivery
  • Surrey Care Record which recognises the need to develop wider engagement as the team starts to develop their testing and roll out plans
  • The Public Health team behind the Health and Wellbeing Strategy
  • Guildford and Waverley ICP to see how they could use a panel to maintain contact between the Surrey 500 cohort after the programme ends.

If you have a change project at an early stage and would like to discuss how this Academy Connect model can support you to engage and socialise your work more widely across Surrey Heartlands please email Aalia Khan at or Sreya Pokkali at
