Welcome to our latest newsletter
This month I was delighted to launch our Surrey 500 leadership programme with its inaugural two cohorts of 100 participants each. This is our first large-scale leadership programme and will help our front line workforce and those already in leadership roles to foster a culture of real collaboration across our system. Importantly, in addition to frontline staff from the public sector and other partners the programme also includes voluntary and community sector colleagues who play such a vital role in our partnership. See more below.
I was also pleased to sign our Partnership Memorandum of Understanding with Active Surrey, making a public commitment to the importance we’re placing on physical activity as part of our wider prevention strategy. And I’m delighted some of my GP colleagues – including Dr Russell Hills, Clinical Chair at Surrey Downs CCG – are taking part in a special GP parkrun event on 1st June – see more below!
It was also International Nurses Day this month and I would encourage you to watch a very moving reminder of the important part nurses play in this short video here by Nurse Megan McGee from Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals.
Finally I’m really pleased to let you know that the new Surrey Health and Wellbeing Strategy has now been published here. This outlines our wider partnership commitment over the next 10 years and is the result of significant collaboration with partners and stakeholders across Surrey. Our job now is to start implementing the strategy and we’ll be engaging widely with citizens and stakeholders as that work starts to progress.
With very best wishes,
Dr Claire Fuller, Senior Responsible Officer for Surrey Heartlands Integrated Care System
