‘We’re here for our local LGBT+ community’ was the message from the Surrey Heartlands Health and Care Partnership at the first ever Surrey Pride this weekend, when colleagues across the local NHS and Surrey County Council joined in the celebrations.
Over 40 colleagues from some of the local NHS organisations – including the NHS clinical commissioning groups, Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals, Royal Surrey County Hospital, Central Surrey Health, Surrey and Borders Partnership and Surrey County Council – all came together in Woking, proudly celebrating and supporting LGBT+ colleagues and residents.
Russell Hills, equality lead across the Surrey Heartlands Clinical Commissioning Groups said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have participated in the first ever Pride in Surrey to support the local LGBT+ community. We’re proud to show our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion across the county and were delighted to have had so many great conversations with people who attended our stand at Saturday’s event. We will continue to celebrate and support the diversity in both our local community and our workforce.”
